Selv om han er lidt usikker på, hvorfor lige netop han har fået tilbudt ledelsen af L.A. advokatkontoret Wolfman & Hart, accepterer Angel på vegne af Angel Investigations. Han er overbevist om, at oplysningerne i W&Hs klientkartoteker kan hjælpe dem med at udrydde den værste ondskab i Los Angeles. Fred bliver med det samme udnævnt til chef for laboratoriet, mens Westley får ansvar for research afdelingen. Gunn har allerede i forvejen en meget juridisk orienteret tankegang og Lorne får ansvar for den entertainment-relaterede afdeling. Men dem mest besynderlige del af deres nye set-up er Spike, der tilsyneladende er kommet tilbage fra de døde og endnu ikke kan forlade kontorerne - og måske er han "den udvalgte" i shanshu profetien... In 'You're Welcome', Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) awakens from her coma and helps Angel get back on track, reinstilling his confidence and reminding him that he does want to be a hero.
In 'Why We Fight', a mysterious man from Angel's past, Lawson (Eyal Podell) arrives at Wolfram and Hart and takes the gang hostage.
'Smile Time' sees Angel attempting to put a stop to a popular children's show that is hypnotising children and stealing their life forces.
